Hi, I'm Chelsea! Let me share a personal backstory:

Growing up in a family with a history of medical conditions and being a dancer from a young age I was surrounded by many individuals early on in my life that were in need of working on their health habits and body image, but they didn’t know where to begin (including myself!). Over time this is what led me to the field of nutrition where I could receive the proper education and help people that may be struggling with their health, just like myself, family, and friends had. 

Throughout college and early on in my professional life, I crossed another health challenge that I’ve discovered so many other individuals struggle with. I’m a routine person and checklists make my day (hello to my type A folks out there!). I quickly discovered that if my routine was interrupted I would feel like a failure. I wanted to live a fulfilling life and have fun, travel, and be social. But in the back of my mind if I would have the opportunity to do anything not revolving around fitness or healthy eating, I would be thinking about how it would negatively impact my health. All of these thoughts started to overtake my mind and led me to not fully enjoy life. The sleep deprivation, increased stress, emotional eating ended up leading to hormone imbalance, gut distress, and so much more. I finally took a step back, reframed my mindset, and focused on the foundations of my health and nutrition. I have the knowledge and self experience and now I'm here to I am here to empower you to nourish your body, find balance with your health, and restore your mental and physical confidence.

  • After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health from Miami University of Ohio, I continued my education at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston. 
  • After completing my dietetic internship, I began my career as a Registered Dietitian at the MUSC inpatient hospital providing medical nutrition therapy through nutrition care planning, education, and enteral nutrition support. 
  • In 2015 I made a career shift into the fitness industry. I got certified as a personal trainer and started teaching group training classes. 
  • When I relocated to Chicago in 2016 I continued my career as a Registered Dietitian and Personal Trainer at a local health club. There I provided outpatient weight management counseling, athletic performance education, and medical nutrition therapy to individuals with a wide array of health conditions including diabetes, heart disease, food allergies/intolerances, digestive disorders, and pre/postpartum challenges.
  • It was in September 2020 that I launched Nuwli and took a leap of faith in June 2021 to turn this brand into my full time career! I now live in North Carolina and strive to reach individuals all over the world to provide wellness coaching, nutrition support, and simple, balanced recipes.
