SALTY, SWEET, SPICY—ROASTED CHICKPEAS ARE THE PERFECT VERSATILE HEALTHY & CRUNCHY SNACK!
When it comes to something to munch on between meals or for a road-trip snack, these Roasted Chickpeas are one my favorite healthy snacks!
Roasted Chickpeas – Four Ways
Salty, sweet, spicy- roasted chickpeas are the perfect versatile healthy and crunchy snack!

Ingredients
Base Ingredients
- 2 15oz cans chickpeas (garbanzo beans) rinsed and drained
- 2 tbsp olive oil
BBQ
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp brown sugar
SPICY
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp chili powder
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/8 tsp salt
GARLIC PARMESAN
- 1/2 tsp garlic minced
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
MAPLE CINNAMON
- 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet (with sides) with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Drain, rinse, and pat chickpeas dry using paper towels or a clean dish towel. Remove chickpea skins that come off when drying. Try to get chickpeas as dry as possible.
- Spread chickpeas in a single layer on the baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil and a sprinkle of salt (optional). Toss gently so that the chickpeas are evenly coated. Roast in the oven for 30 minutes. Stir chickpeas every 10 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, remove from oven and evenly coat with the seasoning of your choice. Place coated chickpeas back in the oven for 5-10 more minutes, until crispy. These are best served immediately for warm crunchiness. Adjust quantities of seasonings to your taste preference.
- Store at room temperature in a container. Do not seal lid. Loosely cover container with lid to help stay crispy. Note: Chickpeas do lose a little bit of the crispiness and may get chewier the next day. Although they are still delicious!
